Doll Story to Compete at Canada’s GRFF

TEHRAN -- Iranian short flick ‘The Doll Story’ has found its way to the Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) in Canada.
Written and directed by Shakila Samavati, the 20-minute flick will be on screen at the main competition program of the 14th edition of the Canadian event.
‘The Doll Story’ tells the story of a “girl that shares her life with the dolls”, according to the official website of the festival.
The film is about Sahar, a girl who makes dolls that are not alive but they live.
Sahar Sotoudeh is the only cast member of the flick.
The GRFF is an arts and culture group dedicated to bringing the best independent cinema to the Region of Waterloo.
This year’s edition of the festival, also set to host Iran’s ‘Beach Dream’ by Arash Sajadi and Muhammad Kharratzadeh-Astim’s ‘Zafaranieh near Sunset’, will take place on May 11-15.
